Position Description

Unimacts is looking for a Dispatch Coordinator for our Las Vegas, Nevada operations.  Our employees are “industrial business athletes” and can be effective in many roles, the key responsibility of this person is to both lead and where needed take a “hands on” active role in the development of our US plant and local supply chain capabilities.

The Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of  supply chain management ensuring the flow of raw materials and final product from supplier to customer.  Will coordinate commercially licensed Flatbed trucks for the purpose of hauling steel coils and finished tubing to and from specified destinations while performing duties in a safe and efficient manner. Travel may be required from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Must possess a data base of Flatbed trucking companies and be able to negotiate rates
• Plans the daily work schedule of up to 20 incoming/outbound drivers to maximize freight
• Communicate and distribute appointment dates/times to drivers is critical to ensure trucks do not block street
• Comply with company and DOT Drug & Alcohol regulations
• Communicate and coordinate between all locations to maximize driver’s time is critical
• Comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
• Follow the supervisor s instructions on material and/or equipment pickup and delivery procedures
• Travel to a job site may be required
• Consistently follow up to ensure that loads are moving according to schedule and customers’ expectations
• All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations

Requirements and Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures
• Occasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• May be required to work 60+ hours, 6 or more days a week
• Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner
• Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments
• Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment
• Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally
• Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 25 pounds

Qualifications

• Two years of Commercial Driver coordination or logistics with data base of Flatbed Trucking Companies
• Must be computer proficient and experienced in using Excel
• Two years of construction supervision experience
• Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment
